Euchre Tourney Rules

The tournament rules committee will determine any rule not covered

  1. Each player plays 10 games (we will do our best to keep the rounds moving quickly)

  2. Players must be at least 18 years of age.

  3. Eight (8) deals per game.No trump called – lose the deal, no make-up deal.

  4. All 9’s and 10’s are not a miss deal. Play what is dealt.

  5. All Euchres are twenty-five cents ($0.25) and will be donated.

  6. Scoring: 3 or 4 tricks=1 point,  5 tricks=2 points,   Euchre – other team gets 2 points,   3 or 4 tricks on a loner=1 point,   All tricks on a loner=4 points,  Euchre on a loner – other team gets 4 points,  Renege=2 points,  Renege by the other team on a loner=4 points

  7. A card laid is a card played. Be careful.

  8. Must have trump to order up or pick up. The left bower is a trump card.

  9. Winners move to the next higher table (#8 to #9, #9 to #10, #10 to #1, etc.).Call red or black for partners

  10. The cards are dealt clockwise, to the left, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer. Each player receives five cards. The dealer may give a round of three at a time, then a round of two at a time, or may give two, then three; but the dealer must adhere to whichever distribution method they begin with.

  11. No smoking.

How does the SKINS game work?

- You pay $10 to play SKINS

- If you and your partner acquire the highest score in any of the 10 rounds of games you win $.

- The amount that you win is dependent upon how many people choose to play SKINS.

- If you and your partner acquire the highest score more than once you can win more than once.

Example

90 Players decide to play SKINS

$10 to play

$900 paid in

$900 to be paid out to players

Divided by 10 games

$90 given out to the SKINS player(s) with the highest score in each of the 10 rounds.

How is the SKINS money paid out?

- If you are participating in the SKINS game but your partner is not and you have the highest point value for that round, you would receive the total dollar value. (Based on the example above, you would receive $90.)

- If you and your partner are participating in the SKINS game and you have the highest point value for that round, you would split the dollar value. (Based on the example above, you and your partner would each receive $45.)

- If you and your partner are not participating in the SKINS game and you have the highest point value for that round, you don't receive anything.
